For Immediate Release November 27, 2002 2nd National Aboriginal | Workers of Colour Conference November 28 - December 1, 2002, Toronto, ON "Social and Economic Transformation" Toronto-Aboriginal and Workers of Colour from all corners of this country will gather in Toronto from November 28 to December 1, 2002. This 2nd National gathering entitled "Social and Economic Transformation" will draw participants from the over 2.5 million organized workers that the Canadian Labour Congress (CLC) represents. It will provide a unique and historical opportunity for Canadian labour to focus on how social and economic issues affect Aboriginal Peoples and People of Colour in the labour movement and broader society. This conference builds on the work of the Canadian Labour Congress' (CLC) Anti-Racism Task Force, First CLC Aboriginal / Workers of Colour Conference held in Montreal in 2000 and the United Nations World Conference Against Racism (UNWCAR) < www.clc-ctc.ca > Speakers, panellists and special guests have been invited locally from within Canada and Internationally. The line-up includes labour and community leaders like Canadians Hassan Yussuff, Marie Clarke-Walker and Bob White; Neide Fonseca of the Bankworkers of Brasil; Sandra Cordero and Rangel Zapata of the Colombian Trade Union Movement and Medardo Gonzalez Member of El Salvador's National Parliament.
