CAMPAIGN FOR PUBLIC EDUCATION

The Campaign for Public Education is a coalition of parents, teachers, students, support workers, and education activists who have come together to defend the standards of public education in Toronto. We are working together to find the solutions needed for the kind of education system that we can all be proud of; where those who learn interact in the most positive ways with those who provide the learning environment.

The key to that goal is getting a fair deal for our schools from Queen's Park. That means a fair share of the education dollars so that staff are not cut or programs cancelled. It means having the ability to provide a learning experience that meets the full needs of every student. It would allow our schools to continue playing a vital role as an asset of our communities, open to use for learning, recreation and culture.

Current members include: Toronto Parent Network, Parent Community Network, Toronto Federation of Chinese Parents, Student Supercouncil, CUPE, Elementary Teachers (ETT), OSSTF, OECTA, BoardWatch, Toronto Adult Student Association, Toronto & York Region Labour Council.
