Toronto & York Region Labour Council Endorses David Miller's Candidacy for Mayor of the City of Toronto

Toronto - The Toronto & York Region Labour Council, Canada's largest labour council representing 180,000 working women and men in the Toronto area, today announced that it has officially endorsed David Miller's candidacy for Mayor of the City of Toronto.

"David Miller is someone who has shown outstanding leadership in every major challenge that has faced this city in recent years. He has acted with dignity, with integrity, and with a vision of a kind of city where ordinary people count," said John Cartwright, President. "From the quality of public services to the quality of life of working families, David's first and only priority is to serve the best interests of the citizens of Toronto."

"David Miller is a real friend of working people. I am very pleased to be the Labour Co-Chair for David's campaign", said Alex Dagg, Director of UNITE. Ms Dagg continued "David will speak out on issues that matter to families and communities. His vision for Toronto includes a clean city where everyone can work and raise their children in safety with affordable housing. Toronto needs David Miller."

The Labour Council joins a growing list of Toronto citizens supporting David Miller, including Jane Jacobs, June Callwood and Avie Bennett.
