2025 Activists Assembly

Working people have had enough. Food costs, gas prices, rent and mortgage payments just keep rising. Meanwhile, our wages have not kept up.

The economy is failing us but the rich keep getting richer. Wealthy corporations put people ahead of profit making it harder for us to get the care we need, the education our kids deserve and the services that protect us.

At every turn, government leaders have failed to stand up for us. But it’s our work that keeps this country running.

Relentless corporate lobbying has led to weakened labour laws, increased privatization of our public services, and tax cuts for themselves. In the end it’s cost us taxpayers more and sacrificed our good jobs.

This ends now. This country is not for the wealthy few. It should be for us.

When we work together, we win. We won public healthcare. We won social safety nets. We won improved wages, better benefits and job security. We know what it’s means to fight for better. Rain or shine, we’re on the picket line, we’re confronting our employers, we’re there for each other.

Kick off this fight at the Toronto & York Region Labour Council’s 2025 Activists Assembly. Like assemblies in the past, we’ll hear from dynamic speakers and panelists about the fight ahead of us; lay out a path to victory by discussing the importance of engaging directly with our members; and, we’ll work together to build strategies and get practice getting our message out there.

Together, let’s fight for the lives we deserve!
