Looking Ahead to a New Social Contract

There is no question that the COVID-19 pandemic is changing the way our society functions in every way - at least, for the short term. Sharan Burrows, the General Secretary for the International Trade Union Confederation, has penned some insightful thoughts on how we have an opportunity to build a new social contract going forward.

While we are all grappling with the new realities of our world - socially distanced, watching the coronavirus numbers rise while the stock market numbers fall - if we can stop and take a breath, we can take a minute to reimagine our future. With so much in turmoil now, the dust will eventually settle. Working people can and must have a say in how we emerge on the other side of this crisis.
