Happy Retirement Enzo

Enzo Mancuso has provided dedicated and exemplary service to the Workers Health & Safety Centre (WHSC), its labour constituency, and employer clients for more than 30 years. His is a proud record.

Enzo worked with the Labour Council to produce the Health & Safety Awards Gala, an extraordinary, annual recognition event to mark the many accomplishments of these volunteer worker activists.

Over his years at the Workers' Health and Safety Centre, Enzo played a pivotal role coordinating many important initiatives that enriched our labour community, including:

  • Key WHSC training programs, especially those supporting workers and their representatives employed in the federal sector;
  • An annual Earth Day presentation with an important green jobs message delivered to elementary and high school students across Ontario;
  • Delivery of critical, lifesaving WHSC training in hundreds of Ontario union halls and workplaces
  • Extending the WHSC’s reach into the building trades and bringing Working at Heights training to many workers
  • A solid network of WHSC-qualified instructors deployed throughout Toronto and beyond
  • A vibrant, Toronto-area community of health and safety and worker compensation activists who truly understand the meaning of the phrase “An injury to one is an injury to all.”

Before joining WHSC, Enzo served as the National Health & Safety Coordinator for the then-Canadian Auto Workers, Local 2213.

Tom Parkin, Managing Director at WHSC, shared his comments: “Enzo will be sorely missed at the Workers Health & Safety Centre. His warmth and compassion for workers is apparent to all who have had the privilege to meet him. His rare and thoughtful brand of activism helped foster important relationships in our movement and workplaces. And when it came to celebrating our collective achievements, well let’s just say, Enzo knew how to throw one heck of a party. In retirement Enzo has told us at WHSC he plans ‘to enjoy every minute of the rest of my life doing what ever makes me happy!’ Here’s to every minute then, Enzo. You deserve them all.”
