Have A Heart City Budget Rally
Join the City Budget Rally on Feb. 15 and demand a livable city for all! In the face of multiple social crises, it's time for our city to have a heart.
Toronto & York Region Labour Council and community partners will host a rally to encourage the Mayor and councillors to “have a heart” and vote for changes to the 2023 budget that will make Toronto a livable city for all. The rally will take place ahead of the special meeting of City Council at which final budget decisions will be made.
Partners for the rally include: Social Planning Toronto, Toronto Environmental Alliance, Progress Toronto, Toronto ACORN, YWCA Toronto, TTCriders, Toronto Neighbourhood Group, Toronto Drop-In Network, Reach Out Response Network, Policing-Free Schools, and Toronto Community Benefits Network.
Participants will use heart-themed posters to share their message. Speakers representing labour and community will address those gathered.
