What is done in darkness will always come to light. A human rights forum with speakers from Karapatan and Asian-Canadian Labour Alliance
You are invited to join us for Human Rights Crisis in the Philippines: an Online Forum on Friday, September 18th, 2020 organised with our friends at the Philippine Advancement through Arts and Culture (PATAC)
This free online forum seeks to learn more about the Philippines, the human rights situation, the Philippine labour landscape, and, discuss what we can do as partners to effect change and protect human rights. Two speakers will join us to help us understand what is happening, and provide analysis and discuss ways to support the protection of human rights.
Cristina Palabay, is the the Secretary General of Karapatan, an alliance whose founders and members have been at the forefront of the human rights struggle in the Philippines since the time of Marcos’ martial law regime. Palabay will speak about the current state of Human Rights in the Philippines; and,
Jojo Geronimo, a Labour and Social Justice Educator, will share how the current situation affects the workers in the Philippines, particularly in COVID19 pandemic times.
We hope that you can join us and learn more about the current situation and how we, as people outside of the Philippines, can help.
