Making Good Trouble* Forum: International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination 2021
“Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.” – John Lewis, 2018
When many communities come together to “make good trouble”, we can change the world. On Sunday March 21st, The Toronto & York Region Labour Council, Labour Community Services and the Urban Alliance on Race Relations will be hosting an online forum to commemorate the International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. We will be bringing together leading voices of creative artists, labour organizers and community advocates to discuss solutions for racial justice in our workplaces, our communities and our society as a whole.
Join Shad (Juno award winning artist & host of Netflix’s Emmy award winning docuseries Hip Hop Evolution), Hassan Yussuff (President, Canadian Labour Congress) and many other spectacular guests. The event will feature four breakout group sessions that require attendees to pre-register for. You can pre-register for the sessions on our EventBrite page.
