Call to action: Labour Counter Protest To Fight Hate & Transphobia

Enough Is Enough! Stop hate and discrimination NOW!

LABOUR COUNTER PROTEST TO FIGHT HATE AND TRANSPHOBIA

When: Monday, March 20 @ 5:45pm

Where:Durham District School Board, 400 Taunton Road E in Whitby, ON

Parking: use the entrance off Anderson (not the main one at Taunton) and park at the Durham District School Board

Durham Region “Freedom Fighters” and Action4Canada are holding a rally at the Durham District School Board meeting on Mon Mar 20th. Their plan is to hold a rally beginning at 6:00pm and then go into the board meeting at 7:00pm for further disruption. We have to stop them.

The posters they are using includes words like: “Stop Wynne Ed/SCE curriculum and stop sexually exploiting children.” They are referencing the criminal code stating it is “an indictable offense liability to imprisonment to exploit or expose minors to any form of pornography or sexually explicit materials or activities”. They have been attacking the 2SLGBTQI+ community, in particular the Trans community, for months now.

Let’s join together in a rally of support and love for the 2SLGBTQI+ community and send a message to the Durham Region Freedom Fighters and Action4Canada that there is no room for hate in Durham or anywhere else! Following the rally action, the plan is for labour and allies to pack the meeting space with as many of us as we can to prevent the DRFF and A4C from taking over the school board meeting.

Please bring your signage, your flags and wear your pride symbols as we all come together in unity and love – sending the clear message that there is no room for hate anywhere! We must drown out their voices and send a clear and overwhelming message that we are here, we support the 2SLGBTQI+ community and will not be going anywhere. Solidarity together!
