MONDAY APRIL 12TH: LABOUR 150 CAMPAIGN LAUNCH
We are only two weeks away from the launching of the Toronto & York Region Labour Council's brand new campaign, Labour 150, in commemoration of our 150th year anniversary.
The campaign launch, taking place on Monday April 12th, will feature the debut of our brand new Labour 150 website, a special live online gala, contests and much, much more. Running for a full twelve months, this celebration will capture how as a Labour Council, "Together We Did, Together We Can, Together We Will".

STOP ASIAN HATE: RALLY RECAP
Five thousand allies attended The Toronto Solidarity Rally Against Anti-Asian Racism this past Sunday afternoon in downtown Toronto. The rally was called to raise awareness about anti-Asian racism following the horrific shooting earlier this month in Atlanta, in which several Asian-American women were murdered.
The Chinese Canadian National Council for Social Justice (CCNC-SJ) recently released a report analyzing data from CovidRacism.ca & Elimin8 Hate.
WED APRIL 7TH: CUPE 905: PHONE ZAP FOR PAID SICK DAYS
In honour of World Health Day, CUPE 905 will be hosting a virtual Phone Zap For Paid Sick Days to put pressure on MPPs to demand paid sick time for all workers.

THU APRIL 1ST: DELEGATES MEETING
Join us on April 1st for our monthly delegates meeting. Delegates will receive necessary documents including the agenda the day before. The meeting will feature the a presentation on the Labour 150 event launch, a streaming of the video "The Refugee Next Door", a guest speaker on Equal Pay Day and a Statement on anti-Asian racism. All union members welcome.

SAVE THE DATE: DAY OF MOURNING 2021
Every year on April 28 we pay our respects to, and remember, the thousands of workers who have been killed, injured or suffered illness as a result of work-related incidents. We also honour the many families and friends who have been deeply affected by these tragedies. Every worker has the right to return home safe and sound at the end of each work day.
Day of Mourning Ceremonies will be held virtually this year. Details of the ceremonies and how to attend will be made available shortly.
