May 7 Delegates' Meeting
Labour Council’s monthly Delegates’ Meeting will go forward at the same time as usual, but will be conducted entirely online. Details of the meeting will be posted when available.
Visit the Labour Council Youtube Channel at 7:30 to catch the livestream, or find the link via our Facebook and Twitter channels.
Note: Delegates will be provided with conference login information by email.
Our guest speaker is notable labour economist Jim Stanford, who give a presentation on the economics of COVID-19 and beyond. Check out the recent article by Stanford in the Toronto Star and an earlier call for action.
This month, delegates will debate a statement on “Immorality and Corporate Greed” which highlights the social and economic devastation caused by employers in the meatpacking industry, private long-term care, and food delivery apps. We will hear directly from one of the employees of Foodora which callously announced shutting its Canadian operation.
