The Power of Narrative Course - Register Now!
The Labour Education Centre is excited to partner with the Institute for Change Leaders to offer a unique two-day course on public narrative as a powerful tool for organizing. This course teaches participants how to engage union and community members by creating narratives that foster a sense of shared purpose and inspire collective action for positive change.
Based on the transformative teachings of renowned social justice educator Marshall Ganz, this course will guide you through using your personal experiences to create compelling stories that motivate others. Ganz, who first came to Toronto 50 years ago with the United Farm Workers to build solidarity for their struggle in California, went on to shape organizing strategies used in diverse movements, including Barack Obama’s 2008 presidential campaign. In 2010, the Labour Council brought Ganz back to Toronto to train local union leaders, and his approach has since become a key element in our Leadership Institute courses.
Now, through this partnership, union activists have the opportunity to learn directly from the same framework in a special stand-alone course over two Sunday afternoons. Whether you’re a top leader, steward, or emerging activist, this training will equip you with vital skills to inspire action and strengthen our movement.
