The Labour Council is excited to partner with Myseum of Toronto to spread the history of Labour in Toronto to a new and diverse audience, strengthening the connection of Toronto’s labour roots to the city’s history, culture, and people.
Myseum of Toronto prides itself on reaching people with engaging programs and experiences that showcase the best of what makes Toronto a unique place in the world. With its deep roots in the city, the Toronto & York Region Labour Council is thrilled to partner with Myseum to expose a new generation of Torontonians to labour’s history and, just as importantly, to demonstrate how labour’s victories of the past offer a glimpse of solutions for the many challenges working people face today.
Our partnership begins this month, as Myseum of Toronto will showcase stories highlighting Toronto’s roots of Labour Day. Over five stories, key events and victories over the past 150 years of the labour movement will outline how far working people have come, and how organizing can help us take on the challenges we face today.
