York Communities for Public Education Launch Event

Please RSVP on the YCFPE page or via Eventbrite.

York Communities for Public Education is a coalition of parents, students, educators, education workers, and community allies who share an interest in maintaining the high standard of public education in York Region. Labour Council is a proud founding member of the coalition.

The group has hosted two "tailgate" barbecues already this fall, but this will be the launch event.  The town hall-style evening will include student performances, stories from teachers and parents, insight into the policy changes currently in the works or on the table, and opportunities for audience Q & A. There will be participatory activities for all ages, including a photo booth!

This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is part of a school community in York Region to learn more about why investment into public education matters, and how the planned cuts will impact our children and our communities.

Doors open at 6:30; programming begins at 7.
