Olivia Chow has served the people of Toronto for over three decades.
Born in Hong Kong, she immigrated to Toronto at age 13 and grew up in an apartment in the St. James Town neighbourhood, supported by her mother’s work as a hotel housekeeper.
This upbringing has informed every step of her trailblazing journey as an activist, community organizer, school board trustee, City Councillor, Member of Parliament, and Mayor of Toronto – the first person of Asian descent and first woman since amalgamation to hold the position.
As Mayor, she has stabilized Toronto’s finances, got the city building again, and restored its public services, all while keeping taxes low for hardworking residents.
She is running for a second term as mayor to continue building a city that is affordable, caring, and safe for everyone.
