Fund Our Schools Walk-Ins Planned Across the GTA November 25–28, 2025
Toronto, ON — In the wake of the provincial government’s passing of Bill 33, education workers, parents, students, and community advocates across the Greater Toronto Area are mobilizing to demonstrate the urgent need for stable, equitable, and fully funded public schools.
Bill 33, which introduces significant changes to the Education Act that influences the funding structures and operational requirements for school boards, has raised widespread concern among frontline educators and families. Critics warn that the bill will lead to deeper resource shortages, increased classroom pressures, and further inequities for Special Needs students across Ontario.
In response, parents from publicly funded schools are organizing a series of coordinated Walk-Ins at schools throughout the GTA during the week of November 25–28, 2025. Participants will gather before or at the end of the school day to show visible community support for strong, well-supported publicly funded education and to call on the provincial government to reverse harmful cuts and commit to long-term, sustainable funding.
“These Walk-Ins are about solidarity,” said Sandra Huh with the Fund Our Schools coalition. “Bill 33 moves Ontario in the wrong direction. Students deserve smaller classes, safe buildings, more supports, and the resources needed to thrive. Communities are coming together to make their message clear: our publicly-funded schools must be funded, protected, and prioritized.”
Parents, guardians, educators, students, and supporters across the region are encouraged to join their local school’s Walk-In and amplify the collective call for investment in public education.
