Neethan Shan is Scarborough’s champion and proudly serves as the City Councillor for Scarborough-Rouge Park.
He has a long history of working with the labour movement and served as the Executive Director of the Urban Alliance on Race Relations.
In Scarborough, Neethan started as a youth worker in Malvern before serving as a Toronto District School Board Trustee, Chair of the Toronto District School Board, and now City Councillor.
He champions what matters most to residents— better transit, safer streets and neighbourhoods, quality parks and recreation centres, and stronger communities.
At City Hall, Neethan serves on the Executive Committee, Scarborough Community Council, the Economic and Community Development Committee, the Toronto Hydro Board, the Toronto Zoo Board, and the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority.
Neethan and his wife, Thadsha, are raising their two sons in Scarborough, remaining committed to delivering results for local families.
