Chiara Padovani is a strong champion for change in York South-Weston.
In the 2022 municipal election, she came within 94 votes of defeating the long-time incumbent — and since then, has continued serving the residents of York South-Weston through the community hub she opened in her former campaign office.
A human rights activist and social worker with the North York Harvest Food Bank, Chiara has spent many years fighting for residents in communities like Mount Dennis, where she was born and raised, and Weston, where she now lives with her husband Bruno.
She helped start the York South-Weston Tenant Union, which has saved renters millions of dollars in illegal rent increases, and has advocated for improved public transit, a living wage, and strong climate action.
As city councillor, Chiara will bring this same level of energy and commitment to addressing the challenges facing York South-Weston.
