Nathaniel Erskine-Smith – 2026 Municipal Election

Nate Erskine-Smith is a lifelong resident of Beaches-East York, with more than a decade of experience representing his community in Parliament. He also served as the federal minister for housing and infrastructure.

As an MP, Nate was known for his principled independence, work across party lines, and progressive advocacy to deliver affordable housing, save lives in the opioid crisis, advance serious climate action, defend civil liberties, support workers, address economic inequality, and more.

Before politics, Nate worked as a commercial litigation lawyer in Toronto and earned degrees from Queen’s (BA, JD) and Oxford (BCL). He played baseball for both universities, and now coaches his son’s baseball in East York.

Nate is running to work with a progressive administration at City Hall to get housing and transit built, advance sustainability, deliver dignity for those in need, and ensure our public services are excellent.
