Scarborough Community Meeting on Responsible Development

Community Meeting on Responsible Development: Manna Wong

Register here

It's hard to imagine but in a few short years Scarborough-Agincourt has become one of the top neighbourhoods in the whole city for development applications. At Kennedy and 401 there are over 3,500 new residences either approved or awaiting approval.

And at Sheppard and Kennedy the proposed redevelopment will replace Agincourt Mall with over 4,372 new condo units. This is one of the biggest development sites in Toronto. It is composed of 10 tall towers, over 240,190 square feet of retail space and over 100,000 square feet of office space.

Join Manna Wong for an online community meeting on development in Scarborough-Agincourt over Zoom on December 21st at 7pm. Once you RSVP a Zoom link will be emailed to you before the event

With these massive developments many people are concerned about the impact on the community. I am too. There will be development - but it needs to be responsible development that builds our community.

As your City Councillor, Manna will create a community working group to address development issues on a neighbourhood scale and these will involve:

  • A traffic study on road safety and pedestrian safety for the whole Sheppard and Kennedy area
  • A transit plan to accompany the almost 10,000 new residential units
  • A congestion plan to address the 1,000's of new cars on Kennedy and Sheppard
  • A neighbourhood needs assessment focused on the impact on local parks, schools, and community services

Once you RSVP for the virtual community meeting a Zoom link will be emailed to you before the event.

If you are not able to attend, Manna wants to hear from you. You can either email her at [email protected] or call her campaign at 416-703-3985 to let me know you what you think.
