Anu Sriskandarajah is an educator, sociologist, and community advocate running to serve as Toronto District School Board Trustee for Scarborough-Guildwood-Rouge Park (Trustee Ward 12). As an Associate Professor of Sociology at York University and a proud YUFA (York University Faculty Association) union member, her professional work centers on children’s rights, youth culture, and equitable public institutions.
First elected in 2018, Anu has served two terms as Trustee, bringing proven governance leadership as Vice-Chair of Policy and Governance. Endorsed by the Toronto and York Region Labour Council, she is a steadfast ally to education workers, consistently advocating for fair working conditions, equitable wages, properly resourced classrooms, and strong public infrastructure.
Living in Scarborough with her husband and two young children, Anu combines scholarly expertise, two terms of board experience, and a parent’s lived experience to champion fully funded, safe, and inclusive public schools where every Scarborough student can thrive.
