The campaign by Toronto Public Library Workers to defend their own jobs and the integrity of the library system during this time was truly inspiring. It garnered support from residents in every part of the city and gained the public endorsement of many of Canada’s leading authors. CUPE Local 4948 shows how labour can build a powerful coalition – on a strong foundation of engaged union members.
